TV celebs chose their 'ichadhari' avatar

The new trend of shape-shifting animals on Indian television is fascinating audience. A woman romancing a Gorilla, Naagin turning into a hot chic to take revenge, Tiger and Bull are fighting because of past enmity and a popular bahu’s turning into a fly.

There are serials that are family dramas or have the saas-bahu element, but raking in the ratings are these supernatural concepts. We asked popular TV celebs their take on such shows and ‘Ichadhari’ animals. And if given a chance, which animal's avatar would they like to take up. Read on what they have to say...

Nikita Dutta

I guess it's a phase when the concepts have shifted towards this completely fictional side. Ichadhari animals seem to be the new thing being loved by our audience on television. For me, I would love to be as ferocious and mighty tigress!

Shama Sikander

It's all fictional anyway so in fiction and fantasy, you can do anything, be anyone and get away with it… that’s why it is called fiction or fantasy. I would love to play a lioness because I would carry that really well. I don’t mind playing a vampire either.

Urvashi Dholakia

I always wanted to be a mermaid as I truly believe that they exist. In fact, I'm such a water baby that my friends call me jalpari.

Karan V Grover

Any fantasy fiction is acceptable to me. I think the whole 'Ichadhari' form-changing characters is very cool. I just hope this shifting transcends into a more modern futuristic superhero series. Given a choice, I would turn into a wolf, panther or a bat.

Ragini Khanna

If I have to choose, I would like to see myself as a unicorn. There are many human emotions I wish to explore as an actor. Right now, playing an animal is not on my mind. And the day I wish to work with animals, I would love to be associated with animal planet.

Vishal Singh

I would like to play a unicorn onscreen.

Which shape shifting animal will you guys like to play?
