TV plots we want freedom from this #IndependenceDay

Independence Day is the day when we celebrate the perseverance and strength of our freedom fighters and how they struggled to bring freedom for our country.

But what about viewers who are still trying to free themselves from the clutches of clichés and same stuff on TV.

So here voicing the opinions of millions, we present you some show plots that we want freedom from this Independence Day.

The show must go on...and on...and on...

Raj Kapoor did tell us that the show must go on. But stretching it for time immemorial has become a trend that leaves viewers helpless. On one side they have their loyalty towards a show on the other they want new stories. Kare to kya kare????

Supernatural Elements

Okay, so once in a while when a purani haveli got focus on shows, we got hooked. But now, with every GEC going the supernatural way with mystery-laden plots and dayans and chudails getting focus, all we can do is yaaawwwwnn! Added to that are now the animal kingdom that has taken center stage in all our favourite shows. Where have our leads vanished??

Parents against love stories

While most series want us to think hatke and explore the unknown, they don’t seem to move past the phase where parents are against a blossoming love story. Even if the girl is talented, educated, smart, and fit for her son, the mother character refuses to accept their love. When most marriages are going the love route, it’s high time TV picked up the trail.

‘I am back’ as my child

What’s with characters returning as their own children? With tiny changes in the appearances and personality traits, the ‘child’ version is usually there to avenge a vamp, to take the story ahead or to simply jump onto the ‘leap’ bandwagon. But if freshness is the real key in a show, a brand new character needs to be introduced, right? Damn right.

Never age syndrome

The story could be stretched for years, decades even…but the leads will not age a day. Their perfectly coiffed hair, on-point dress sense, and impeccable makeup make them as unbelievable as the story arcs. When will this stop? We definitely want freedom from such stuff…what about you guys?

Ablaa Naari

As regressive as this sounds, the lead girl invariably pulls the ‘abla naari’ card. She might be qualified, smart, and even the sole earning member of the family, but she will not show any ambition, courage or take the lead when necessary. Such outdated ideas and plots should leave TV screens right away.

What do you have to say guys? Which plots do you want freedom from???
