The soft-spoken and extraordinarily charming Kunal Karan Kapoor is talented too. With a raspy voice and inherent acting flair, this actor continues to astound with his versatile prowess.

Kunal, who shot to fame with Remix, is a household name now. The actor turns a year older on August 22 and is best remembered as Mohan Bhatnagar of Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha.

On his special day, we present you with few lesser-known facts about Kunal.

Though the actor is popular for playing lovable characters on the small screen, not many know that he always wanted to be behind the camera. He aspired to be a director since his childhood and acting happened to him by chance.

Kunal made his way into the glamour world and has had his share of struggles. Before achieving fame and, the actor worked at a call centre. His first pay cheque was for Rs 8,000.

His first break was in a show called ‘Rajni’ with the late Priya Tendulkar… and it was just for one or two days. Actually, he never got paid for that role but he was excited about it.

He is very possessive about books, DVDs and laptop.

Kunal loves shopping and biking. He often goes on shopping sprees and splurges. Kunal has a fondness for bikes. He often takes impromptu trips to Lonavala and Goa on his sleek machine.

Kunal is a passionate photographer and traveller.

Kunal is often mistaken for Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor. Kunal was quoted in an interview that once he had gotten a call from Pooja Bhatt's office to come down for an audition. He got excited and thought that it was the moment for him to enter Bollywood. However, soon his bubble burst as the caller told him she liked him in 'Rang De Basanti'. Kunal realised that the call was for Kunal Kapoor.

Kunal, by nature, is a loner. He goes on vacations alone.

He had his first crush when he was in second standard.

During the shooting of the last few episodes of Na Bole Tum Season one, Kunal was suffering from Dengue. He finished the shooting of the series and only after that got himself admitted to the hospital. He did not let his health interrupt the shooting schedule.
