Popular actor Arjun Bijlani, like every year is looking forward to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in style!!

Why not?

Arjun has been bringing home Ganpati every year without fail. And his family has been following this custom for nearly 25 years now!!

This year, the festival will be even more special for Arjun and his family as his son Ayaan will actively take part in the celebrations this year. Ayaan was a toddler when Bappa had come home last year, but now the amazing kid seems eager to do the puja himself.

Says Arjun, “We bring Ganpati every year at our home. My mother and wife and me discussed about the about the kind of decorations did for Bappa’s mandap. We brought home the Ganpati last night (4 September), and will celebrate the festival for one and half days. On 6th evening, we will bid adieu to Bappa after seeking his blessings.”

Arjun adds on, “Yes, we are eagerly looking forward to celebrating the festival this year, as my son Ayaan is all set to welcome the Lord. He always does a lot of puja, and also seeks blessings in his own way. So the whole atmosphere will be different with him being with us.”

On the large-scale preparations for the puja, Arjun shares, “We will be doing our aarti, and we usually sing as a family during aarti. We will be calling all our relatives and friends to come home and seek the Lord’s blessings. This will also be the time for us to meet our friends and relatives who we have not met for a long time. On the whole, Bappa will bring positivity to our house, and we will have good vibes all around us.”

It is also believed that Ganpati will bless us if we visit five to ten Ganpatis. So Arjun and his family will also get the darshan of the Lord at their relatives and friends’ places. “We will also plan it out to go to others’ houses to get a darshan of Bappa.”

Arjun’s way of bringing home the Lord is always the same. “I have a set routine when it comes to getting him home. However, he plans things differently for me every year.”

Ask him about the size of the idol that he will get home, and Arjun avers, “Ours will be a normal, medium sized idol. I always believe that the ‘shraddha’ (devotion) is more important than the size of the idol.”

Well said, Arjun!! Here’s wishing you and your family Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!!
