Mahalaya special: Colors Bangla to feature ‘Durgadurgotinashini’ and ‘Ganudada r Dugga Puja’

Mahalaya marks the start of the 'Devipaksha' and the end of the 'Pitri-paksha'. This day bears immense significance for the Bengalis and like every year Mahalaya is celebrated with great fervor. Bengalis all over the world wake up early in the morning to watch the program called “Mahisasura Mardini” or “The Annihilation of the Demon.”

And this year is no different!

Tellychakkar.com had already reported that actress Payel De is enacting Maa Durga for the Mahalaya programme of Colors Bangla.

Now we bring to you more information about the same. Read on.

Directed by Anirban Mullick, the Mahalaya programme titled Durgadurgotinashini (Eyewash Production) will see actors Rudrajit and Sudip Mukherjee playing the roles of ‘Lord Shiva’ and ‘Mahishashur’ respectively.

There will be various other key characters of the fiction shows of the channel who will be part of the story like Prity Biswas, Priya Paul, Shreyoshi, Debottama (from E Amar Gurudakshina), Tonni Laha Roy (from Benebou), Chandni Saha (from Benebou), and Adrija to name a few.

The story of Mahishashurmordini will be narrated through a fictionalized story of a family.

Durgadurgotinashini will be followed by another show titled ‘Ganudada r Dugga Puja’ directed by Arijit Bhadra from Animatrix Multimedia. An animated film and with Ganesh as its hero, the story will be told in a simple narrative to connect kids to the traditional values and systems.

So readers, gear up for the shows!

On 30 September, Durgadurgotinashini will air at 5 am and Ganudada r Dugga Puja at 7.30 am.
