Popular actress Rituparna Sengupta feels that her upcoming television show ‘Home Minister Bouma’ will create a positive impact on the society.

“May be through this show we will get to meet some really talented women who are homemakers. A woman does a lot for her family which remains untold. This show we will be able to reveal her story. The show has been planned in such a way that every family member will play. I feel the series will create a positive impact on the society,” Rituparna said about Home Minister Bouma at a recent press conference.

The Tolly queen is anchoring the game show which will be aired on Zee Bangla.

It’s a family based project, where a woman along with her husband, mother-in-law and other members of the family will be participating.

About the positive sides of Home Minister Bouma, the actress opined, “It’s true that we have forgotten to celebrate the concept of joint family and the love and affection shared in such families.”

“I mean owing to the growing trends of nuclear families and busy lives of people, somewhere the human links are getting destroyed. But in this game, the entire family will play, will interact. It will celebrate the bonding of a family,” she added.

There are people who believe saas and bahu can never be friends but there are some who believe both can be friends and Rituparna believes on the later group.

Giving the example of her own married life, she shared, “The relationship between a daughter-in-law and mother-in-law is eternal. I have been married for long and thus I understand that the two share a deep bonding.”

“Sometimes they are friends and sometimes they also get upset with each other. But end of the day, they share a unique bonding which lasts for the whole life,” she added.

The actress, who won accolades by acting in Bengali films like Alo, Dahan, Muktodhara, Rajkahini, and Praktan, is anchoring a show for the first time and she says that she is nervous about this ‘new step’.

She confessed, “This is a new step and new challenge in my career and I don’t know how things work in television. I have been the ambassador of television and I also made guest appearances in various TV shows but I have never anchored.”

“Although, I am getting immense encouragement and guidance from the team, I am little nervous. I don’t know whether I will be able to win the heart of audience or not,” added the actress.

Best wishes, Rituparna!

Home Minister Bouma will start from 20 October, airing Thursday to Saturday, 9.30 pm.
