Good news!!!
Promo of Drashti Dhami starrer Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil is out and fans are going gaga over it.
Playing an everyday, middle class, ambitious girl, Drashti’s Naina will instantly connect with us. She takes on regressive thoughts and stereotypical aunties with a flair that only a self-made woman is capable of.
The drama is said to be based on Subhash Ghai's hit Pardes, which starred Shah Rukh Khan and Apoorva Agnihotri in the lead, along with debutant Mahima Chouwdhary. While Arjun Bijlani revives SRK's love-struck character, Laksh Lalwani will be seen taking over Apoorva's negative streaks. Ooh! The major portions of the series has been shot in Austria.
The promo introduces us to Naina, a caring, mature girl who takes care of her mother and their home. She is real, relatable and could be any one of us. Her mother and nosy neighbour are also an extension of our mundane lives. While telling her mother about the pending chores, her mother's friend taunts Naina about being a girl, who would eventually leave her home for her in-laws' house. The neighbour chides the mother for being dependent on her daughter.
But Naina is a no-nonsense girl who gives it back, making her mother and us proud!
Her new look, chopped off hair and simple salwar-kurti, is a lot different from her earlier elaborate avatar...but one that we are totally loving.
The premise is set and the promo looks interesting. We can't wait to watch it! It will soon start beaming on Star Plus.
