Actor Ankush Arora, who is playing the protagonist of Zee TV’s Yeh Vaada Raha (Trishulla Productions), has literally turned a child, and is re-living his childhood at the moment!!
Yes, this is as per the new drama revolving in the show.
As we know, Karthik, played by Ankush was mentally sick after going through humongous torture at the hands of the ‘bura saaya’ Iccha (Vaishnavi Dhanraj). All the mental strain has resulted in a typical characteristic change in him, and he has suddenly started behaving like a 12 years old child.
And the best part is that Ankush has been brilliant as the ever-hyper and jubilant kid.
So how did Ankush bring about this transformation in the character?
Says Ankush, “Karthik now is a child who does not look into the other person’s eyes; he loves to eat, loves to play. And to bring out the child in me was indeed difficult. I met an autistic child, and got to know the basic mannerisms. I also went to my school in Delhi to meet the kids. I played with them and sang songs with them. And all this gave me the lead-up to play this major role in the show.”
Ankush simply loves the ‘baby steps’ that he takes in the show. “Yes, it is indeed funny when I walk like a kid. I also saw few references on videos; watched Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in the movies Dhoom 3 and My Name is Khan respectively. So it is a nice beginning.”
Talking about the new comic range added into his repertoire, he avers, “When I start shooting, my entire crew loves the way I enact. They have a good laugh. And I truly hope viewers too like my effort. I am enjoying being young, and this adds the additional comic range into my character. I am basically reliving my childhood.”
