Looks like Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, which is on the cusp of release, has no respite from political parties. According to an entertainment site, the much-awaited flick of 2017 might be stalled as the Chhattisgarh wing of Shiv Sena has sent out threatening letters to ban Raees from releasing in theaters.
It’s still unclear whether the letter is pertaining only to Chhattisgarh or all over India, but it has come as quite a rude shock to the makers. Film-distributor Akshaye Rathi, who apparently received the intimidating letter, took to a micro-blogging site to express his angst.
“Dear Aditya Thackeray, we have received this threat letter from your Chhattisgarh unit against playing Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees. Do you endorse it?”
The film has had enough brushes with controversies, what with the alleged clash-rant with Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan over Kaabil releasing on the same day as Raees to Pakistani artist Mahira Khan being sent back to her country due to political unrest.
Just when Mahira was readying to promote the movie over video-call and we thought the controversies were a thing of the past, comes this new twist.

Request all @iamsrk fans to help me bring this to the notice of @AUThackeray. I'm sure he will take action against this nuisance. #Raees https://t.co/k6xvFMi1aM

Earlier, SRK met MNS Chief Rah Thackeray to ensure smooth release of the flick. It got embroiled in controversy for casting Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.
