We will not live-in together after our engagement: Vivian and Vahbbiz

Vahbbiz Dorabjee and Vivian Dsena
Panchi aka Vahbbiz Dorabjee and the handsome vampire Abhay Raichand aka Vivian Dsena of Pyaar Kii Yeh Kahaani got engaged in Pune. The pair, who usually has been very open about their relationship, kept hush-hush about the entire affair. They did not call the media or share any details about the special occasion. But for the first time after the event, Vivian and Vahbbiz talk exclusively to Tellychakkar.com about life after engagement, marriage plans, honeymoon, and lots more. Excerpts: You have always been open about your relationship. Then why did you choose to get engaged so secretly? Vahbbiz: I always wanted it to be a quite and close-knitted affair. Vivian and I are famous but our families are not used to all the media attention. The engagement would not have been special with flashing cameras all around. Vivian: I completely agree with her. It was a private affair with only family members and close friends being involved. Was the engagement pre-planned? Vahbbiz: No, not at all. It all happened instantaneously. We have always been pyaar kiya toh darna kya…(laughs) types. Our parents suggested that we should get engaged; we gave it a thought and finally agreed to it. Vivian: I think with the engagement, we took our relationship to the next level. It looked more like a shaadi than a regular engagement. Your comments… Vahbbiz: I think we have started a new trend (laughs). There will be so many rituals during our wedding that we cannot enjoy each and every part of it. So, I purposely decided to have small functions such as mehendi and sangeet during our engagement. I know it’s funny but believe me, we had a blast. Vivian: I completely agree with her. There will be no time once we decide to get married .So we utilized this moment to its fullest. Both of you were looking stunning during the affair. Who designed your clothes? Vahbbiz: Thanks a lot. Everything happened quite fast, so we did not get time to design clothes. We got ready-made stuff. For mehendi, I bought a dress from Shane and Falguni but I ended up wearing a beige and maroon Anarkali dress from Papaji. (laughs) In the engagement, I wore a beautiful dress from Seasons. The dress was meant for me. People actually turned around and started looking at me (laughs). Vivian: Go on, Vahbbiz…I won’t interrupt. I know girls can talk for hours when it comes to shopping (laughs). However, my clothes were designed by my designer Nitish Singh Chauhan. He is the person who makes me look good at different occasions, be it parties or award functions. Who selected your engagement ring? Vahbbiz: I didn’t want a usual solitaire. Engagement is a special occasion, so I wanted a special diamond ring (smiles). Vivian: The shopping department was handled by Vahbbiz and her mom. I am not very fond of ornaments. So I just accompanied them. But the ring is a beautiful one. What did you gift each other? Vahbbiz: We both are not materialistic in nature. The best gift in my life is Vivian himself. He is such a big star and has a huge female fan following. He is at the peak of his career right now but still chose to get engaged, which is a brave decision. Vivian: We don’t look out for special occasions to gift each other. We keep gifting each other every now and then, and as Vahbbiz said, we are not materialistic people. I think it’s my Karma that I have met a soul mate like Vahbbiz. I might have done some good deeds in my last birth that I have got a life partner like her. And I totally believe that money can’t buy happiness. Who was part of your guest list? Vahbbiz: We invited a lot of people from our show and most of the invitees turned up. Siddhanth Karnick, Kishwar, Suyash, Tanvi Thakkar were there. They were the once who rocked the evening. They danced and we had an absolute blast. Manmeet and Harmeet of Meet brothers also performed during the engagement dressed like our characters in Pyaar Kii…. We were touched by their performance. Vivian: I was really happy that all my close friends and my family members were present at this special occasion. Siddhanth took care of me like a brother during the function. How has life changed after the engagement? Vahbbiz: Life has not changed but of course, I feel more complete now. My parents are also happy and my dad thinks that with Vivian, he has got another son in the family. Vivian: It’s a new and great feeling. It feels good. You both are from the TV industry? Is it a boon or a bane? Vahbbiz: It is obviously a boon. I don’t know how I would have reacted if I would have got engaged to someone hailing from a different profession. Being from the same industry, we understand its nature. And as a professional, we don’t compete with each other. I know that Vivian is very talented and more popular than me and I respect that. Personally, I believe a man should be rated a bit higher than his woman. Vivian: It doesn’t matter. It’s all about love, understand and faith. Yes, it does help to understand each other better when you are from the same profession. So now that you are engaged, will you enter into a live-in relationship? Vivian: No. We will stay together only after marriage. I don’t have anything against live-in relationships, but I believe in Indian ethics and traditions. Did you both throw any bachelor party before the engagement? Vahbbiz: No, we did not. Vivian: I don’t believe in bachelor parties. I think the moment a man enters into relationship he loses his bachelorhood. But, I will definitely throw a party after my marriage wherein I will call all my friends who are in a relationship. So, when are you getting married? Vahbbiz: Next year, definitely (smiles). Vivian: Yes, by next year. How will it be? Vahbbiz: Elders of the family will decide most of the things. I am a Parsi, and a Parsi gets boycotted on marrying someone from out of the caste. So we will follow rituals and traditions as per Vivian’s religion. Vivian: It will be a mix of both the religions. However, I think it’s too early to comment. Our parents will decide things. What about honeymoon? Vahbbiz: It’s too early to talk about honeymoon. We have just got engaged. Vivian: Yaar media ko to sab janna hai… We have not yet planned our honeymoon.
