Zee TV's big ticket show Dance India Dance opened with a bang - according to TAM, it recorded ratings of 3.9 and 4.9 TVRs on Friday and Saturday last week. Zee TV's big ticket show Dance India Dance opened with a bang - according to TAM, it recorded ratings of 3.9 and 4.9 TVRs on Friday and Saturday last week. It's good news for the show and the channel, considering India was playing a one-day match against Sri Lanka. And so DID proved to be the No.1 Non- Fiction show across all the GECs.
An elated Nitin Vaidya, COO ZEEL and Business Head, Zee TV said, "It is a feeling of accomplishment. The ratings of Lux Dance India Dance and Pavitra Rishta are overwhelming and motivate us for sure. This goes to show how eagerly people were waiting for the second season of Dance India Dance."
The show has opened up to rave reviews not only in India but also in countries as far apart as USA and Russia. Since it's about a common man's passion for dance, the show has struck a chord with the masses, cutting across all age groups. Not only this, Pavitra Rishta too emerged as the number one show with a rating of 6.3 TVRs in the fiction genre. The show portrays the struggle of a middle-class Maharashtrian family in a heart-felt manner.
The ratings garnered by DID and Pavitra Rishta have helped the channel to fetch a whopping 271GRPs, overall making Dance India Dance and Pavitra Rishta the highest-rated programmes in the non-fiction and fiction categories, respectively.
