Christmas eve is going to be special for dance lovers in India this year. When the clock strikes 8:30 pm on 24 December viewers who are watching Zee TV will get a chance to watch the first episode of the next season of the epic dance talent hunt Dance India Dance.
The show’s telecast time has been changed to try and bring in more family audiences than was possible with 9:30 pm, which was the DID slot in the previous season. It will be telecast on Saturday and Sunday night, as compared Friday, Saturday earlier.
DID’s production house has also been changed; it is now being produced by Frames. Remo, Geeta Kapur and Terence Lewis will continue to judge and lead the three teams with Mithun Chakrobarty being the grandmaster.
The added difference to the show this time is that internationally qualified trainers have been brought in to assist the dancers.: Alex Magno (a creative director and choreographer who has worked with Madonna, Pussycat Dolls and Britney Spears), Lourd Vijay (Latin and ballroom specialist) and Haridas Ethafu (strength and flexibility trainer).
Finally, the channel has made another departure from earlier seasons by auditioning dancers online.
“We auditioned dancers from 168 cities all over the world, including India to get to the top 18 dancers,” says Zee TV’s non-fiction head Ashish Golwolkar. “I am proud to be a small part of a movement called DID...that has taken the shape of a religion for dancers...really overwhelmed.”
All that we at Tellychakkar.com can say is: we understand the feeling!!!!
