Bengali actors talk about their favourite book and author

KOLKATA: Reading books is an interesting hobby. If you read a good book, it not just relaxes your mind but also enhances your knowledge and imagination power. You also get to know many new words. There are people who like to read when they get time while there are some bookworms who always look for the opportunity to read.

Considering the fact that our television actors have hectic shooting schedules, we wondered if they are into the habit of reading books and if they do then, who is their favorite author and which book they liked the most. TellyChakkar asked these questions to a few Bengali television actors. Read on to know what they shared...

Farhan Imroze- Yes, I do read sometimes. My favorite author is Paulo Coelho and favorite book is The Alchemist.

What do you think of Farhan Imroze?

Aindrila Sharma – Yes, I do read. Rabindranath Tagore is my favorite author while Gitabitan is my favorite book. I am presently reading this book called Girl Most Likely to by Poonam Sharma.

What do you think of Aindrila Sharma?

Biswarup Bandyopadhyay – It’s a very difficult question. I am a bookworm; sometimes I even read kagojer thonga (paper bag). I do not have any particular favorite author or book. I like Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay, Samaresh Majumdar, Humayun Ahmed, Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, Amish Tripathi and Novoneel Chakraborty. I also like Bankim, Rahul Sankrityayan, and Buddhadeb Guha. I liked almost all the books by Bibhutibhushan and Humayun. I liked Kalbela Trilogy by Samaresh Majumdar, Durbin and Ghunpoka by Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, Shiva Trilogy by Amish, Madhukari by Buddhadeb and Volga Theke Ganga by Rahul Sankrityayan. 

What do you think of Biswarup Bandyopadhyay?

Sheikh Rezwan Rabbani – Yes, I read and I have many favorite authors like Robert Kiyosaki, Dale Carnegie, and Devdutt Pattanaik. My favorite books include Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and Sita. Presently, I am reading books of different genres like film, art, computer, marketing, PR, and event. All are related to media science.

Debaparna Chakraborty – I read when I get time. My favorite author is Smaranjit Chakraborty. I last read the book called Compass by him. 

Tonni Laha Roy – Yes, I do read. My favorite author depends on the story I am reading, for example, I like Chetan Bhagat, Ravinder Singh to name a few.
