Is Rajan Shahi making a sequel of Yeh Rishta... on the digital space?

MUMBAI: Television’s most adored producer Rajan Shahi, who has given the industry some gems on the idiot box, might come up with his third project on the new media.

As per the latest buzz, Shahi, the head honcho of Director’s Kut is gearing up for his next project on the digital space. Apparently, the talks are on and at an advanced stage. The project would be Shahi’s take on urban families and the character’s perception of relationship. “It would deal with different generations, their equations and dynamic,” a source reveals.

Though we don’t have concrete confirmation, our sources maintain the authenticity of the news. Shahi has worked on many shows. However, his Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been an iconic one from the lot. On the digital space, Shahi has wooed the audience with his web series Love, Sex and Viagra.  

The project will be helmed under his production house and will be collaborated with the newly launched media firm Applause Entertainment.

We couldn’t reach out to Shahi for his confirmation.

Could this show be a modern version of Yeh Rishta...? Only time will be able to tell that.
