Colors’ Roop goes through creative changes post fall in ratings?

Roop

MUMBAI: The Colors show Roop – Mard Ka Naya Swaroop (Rashmi Sharma Telefilms) starring Afaan Khan showcases the story of an eight-year-old boy who breaks the tradition and questions the norms of a male-dominated society that dictates how men and women should behave.

The show had a bumper opening on the rating charts with 3499, however, the numbers slid down last week to 2914 and as per our credible sources, the makers have taken an alarming action to up their game.

Apparently, the screenplay for the track focusing on making Roop a wrestler was ready and the cast was supposed to shoot for the same. But the sudden dip made the creators change their decision and the creatives are now working on a fresh script which will spice up the drama before diving into the titular character of Roop pursuing the sport.

We tried contacting producer Rashmi Sharma for more information on restructuring the storyline but she remained unavailable for comment. We also called actors Afaan Khan and Yash Tonk but they were busy shooting.

Now for those who want to know more about what will unfold next in the show, the current track focuses on Roop’s birthday where Shamsher, the father of Roop will gift him a police uniform and will ask him to wear it for his birthday. Ranbir will add itching powder to the uniform and this will leave Roop scratching himself all over. While this sequence will have a flavour of comedy, the show will introduce a high voltage drama where the party will only have girls coming. Shamsher will be shocked and embarrassed to see Roop having only girls as friends and will refuse to be a part of the celebrations. Roop will later apologize to him
