Ayushmann spent time at blind school for three months

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who plays a visually impaired pianist in Sriram Raghavan's forthcoming thriller Andha Dhun, regularly went to a blind school for three months to prepare for his role.

"I wanted to look 100 per cent genuine on screen. It is extremely sensitive to portray someone who is visually impaired and some of the great actors, the world over, have played these characters perfectly with sheer brilliance. I didn't want to let down my director who had faith in me and in my acting skills," Ayushmann said in a statement.

"I went to a blind school for three months regularly to observe body language, mannerisms, reactions and nuances. Today, when I'm seeing the love that the audience is pouring for the trailer and my character, I feel glad that I put myself through this drill.

"It was tough and rigorous and needed all the attention in the world to pick such tricky nuances but acting is as much talent as it is attention to detail," he added.

Andha Dhun also stars Tabu and Radhika Apte.

Will start shooting with Hrithik from October: Tiger Shroff

Actor Tiger Shroff, who was last seen onscreen in Baaghi 2, says he will start shooting for Yash Raj Films' untitled film along with Hrithik Roshan from October.

Tiger Shroff was interacting with media at the launch of clothing brand 'Prowl' on Monday in Mumbai.

Tiger Shroff is collaborating with Hrithik Roshan in the untitled project for the first time. "I am huge fan of Hrithik sir. We have time for the release of the film. It will be released on October 2 next year," said Shroff.

He said they have shot for the introduction action scene involving him in the film. "It was quite challenging and we tried to do different kinds of action in it. I am waiting for October because then, we will start the first schedule of the film," he said.

When asked about Baaghi 3 release, he said, "We are thinking about April 20, let's see how it works out."

Tiger Shroff launched a ready-to-move challenge for the audience for promotion of his clothing brand 'Prowl.' "At the time of release of Flying Jatta, we created 'Beat pe booty' challenge and that's how we came up with this idea. Recently, Kiki challenge also garnered good response from people. I think people like taking up challenges," said Tiger Shroff.

"In that video, I did a hook step of 'Ready to move' and people were kind enough to do the hook step and send in their entries. I am really thankful for that because we have had so much love of them for the music video," he said.

In the untitled project of Yash Raj Films, Hrithik plays Tiger's guru in the film, which the makers claim, will be a slick face-off thriller that is expected to be a visual spectacle.

It also stars Vaani Kapoor in lead role.

The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and it slated to release on next year's Gandhi Jayanti.

Mahesh Bhatt launches trailer of 'The Dark Side of Life: Mumbai City'

Veteran Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who has directed many critically acclaimed films like Saaransh, Naam and Zakham is now starting his new innings as an actor with The Dark Side of Life: Mumbai City.

Bhatt launched trailer of the film on Monday with his co-actors Nikhil Ratnaparakhi, Allisha Khan, director Tariq Khan and producer Rajesh Pardasani in Mumbai.

Sharing his experience about acting in the film, Bhatt said, "Acting is a difficult task. In acting, you have to remember lines and you have to be on your toes. I think it is easy to tell how to act from behind the camera but it is difficult to smile in front of camera.

"It is a different medium and I will never consider myself as an actor and if audience like my performance in the film then, all credit of that goes to Tariq Khan," the legendary director said.

Trailer of The Dark Side of Life: Mumbai City shares similarity with Mahesh Bhatt's own production Life in a Metro which depicts struggle of human life in Mumbai city. Asked about the similarities of the two films, Bhatt said, "I think every human being has gone through a struggle in their life and Anurag Basu's Life in a Metro looks closer to this film but this film has a different kind of narrative.

"In this film, ensemble star cast of the film is being connected by one theme but film's director has his own point of view and what makes Tariq the unusual filmmaker is that he has his own individuality and style while making a film," he said.

The film is slated to release on 5 October.

National Award-winning filmmaker Rima Das' film Bulbul Can Sing premiered at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2018. It was screened to a packed house of audience on Monday, and she is overwhelmed by people's response to it.

Bulbul Can Sing is about a teenage girl, Bulbul, living in a village in Assam, fighting her way through love and loss as she figures out who she really is.

Das, writer-director-producer, made the film independently, in the same way as her earlier film, Village Rockstars.

Village Rockstars had premiered at Toronto International Film Festival 2017 under the Discovery Section.

Cameron Bailey, Artistic Director of Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), said, "Last year, Rima Das came to the festival with Village Rockstars, her delightful drama about a girl with a dream. After its premiere here, it went on to sweep India's National Film Awards and played at dozens of festivals around the world.

"Das is back with another breath of fresh air, once again shot amidst the timeless beauty of her home village in India's Assam state. As in the earlier film, Das imbues every frame with insight and respect, and this time there's a growing exploration of adolescence. Bulbul Can Sing is no simple rural idyll."
