The lady with a vision, Ekta Kapoor needs no introduction. The multifaceted Ekta is bringing her favourite iconic show Kasautii Zindagii Kay back on TV screens with a new cast on Star Plus.
Ever since the teaser and promos have been aired, viewers are anxiously waiting to see their favourite pair of Anurag and Prerna recreating magic on TV.
The show has also been in the news for its star cast. The speculations ended with Star Plus airing the promos featuring Parth Samthaan and Erica Fernandes in the roles of Anurag and Prerna respectively. The channel has brought onboard the king of romance Shah Rukh Khan to introduce the jodi to masses.
Talking about the comeback of Kasautii, Ekta shared, ‘I am excited to see my iconic show back on TV. It is great to see the remake of your most loved creation on TV. However, at the same time it is stressful, as people are going to compare it with the first one and I am ready for that.’
How much did she enjoy the never-ending speculation about who would play the roles of Prerna and Anurag? ‘It was maddening. I hated and, at the same time, enjoyed it. There was bashing in fan clubs and people were making assumption about whether a particular actor will work or not. But before one jumps to conclusions, wait for the official announcement to happen.’
When asked how long it took her to finalize Prerna and Anurag, she replied, ‘It took me a long time to find Anurag but very little time for Prerna. We had almost signed Erica for something else but kept that aside and finally finalized her as Prerna.’
What made her to bring Kasautii back on TV? ‘It is a beautiful story, and I love Kolkata, as it has a very classic feel to it.’
