I haven’t heard the entire script of Asura: Arshad Warsi

Arshad Warsi

MUMBAI: We have successfully entered the digital era wherein exciting and unique content of made for audiences and a lot of A-lister actors have also ventured into the same considering the reach and rage of the digital medium.

Comedy king Arshad Warsi, who has been tickling the audiences’ funny bone, is all set to take up a serious character in Voot’s upcoming web-series Asura. Arshad is going to play the role of a forensic scientist in the show. We got in touch with him about the same, and he said, ‘I feel a person’s personality largely depends upon his profession, and I always keep in mind and research about my role accordingly. This character is going to be very different from all those I’ve played till date.’

Arshad added, ‘I am very quick with my decision whether to sign a project or no. I don’t believe in making the writers and producers wait for my decision, and thus, I instantly agreed to do this project. The weird thing is I haven’t read the entire script as yet. I just signed it as I knew I am on the right path.’

Taliking about the cast, Arshad said, ‘Apart from being fair actors, Ridhi, Sharib, and Barun are good people, and that’s what I prefer. I can handle a bad actor with a good nature rather than a great actor with bad attitude.

We also asked him about his smashing hit song, the Aankh Maarey remix from Simmba. He said, ‘I had to revisit the song to see what exactly people liked about my portion, as I was just called casually for a dance number on the set of Simmba, and to my amazement, the song happened to be the Aankh Maarey remix. I feel the energy of the song is very positive, and I dance with all my heart and that’s what reflects onscreen and is appreciated by the audiences and I am thankful for the same.’

Ask him about the nostalgia that he went through while filming the remix, and he quipped, ‘Ironically, there were a few background dancers in the song who were also a part of the original Aankh Maarey and we connected instantly and discussed how we shot the old version of the song. It was a very positive energy on the set.’
