MUMBAI: In the current social media boom, viewers and fans have the freedom to connect with actors, which sometimes they misuse. A lot of times, fans are carried away in spreading hatred towards the actors for a particular character that they portray.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the gorgeous Mohena Kumari Singh, who has gained a lot of fans for her character of Keerti in Star Plus’ popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Director's Kut). While the actress enjoys the positive feedback on social media, she has frequently become the target of fan judgement and negative comments.

In an exclusive chat with TellyChakkar, Mohena said, ‘I think these fan wars are crazy, because there is unnecessary mudslinging and name-calling, which is quite sad. We're just actors doing our jobs. I believe actors become soft targets, as everybody knows us. It becomes easy for fans to gossip, troll, make assumptions, brand us, body shame us, and talk about our skills in a negative way. All of this is pretty negative.’

Adding more to it, she said, ‘I believe I will never in my life take a phone and start mudslinging a villain or character that I do not like. I think it is so unfortunate that kids these days are wasting their time on social media by doing negative things. If people wants to spend time on social media than, then they should do something positive that can probably help people or make them happy. If they get happiness by bringing other people down and by talking ill about them, then I just pity them.’

Well said, Mohena.
