International Women's Day: SUN Bangla to pay tribute to extraordinary women, read details

KOLKATA: To mark International Women's Day, Bengali entertainment channel SUN Bangla has come up with an initiative called Soptaho Jure Naari Dibos to honour some of the extraordinary women for their remarkable contribution to our society.

The idea behind this initiative is to salute them and their achievements.

“The objective of Soptaho Jure Naari Dibos is to show gratitude towards the women for breaking all barriers and reaching the pinnacle of success in various spheres of life. Baby Halder, who has become a bestselling author from a domestic help, and apart from her, Jayanti Soren, a Santali Rabindra Sangeet singer, Teherina Nasrin, the first Muslim woman in the world crossed turbulent English Channel, Tiash Mukherjee-mountaineer and social activist, cyclist Lipika Biswas, first Indian woman to do a Solo cycle expedition in Europe, SUN Bangla is honoured to pay tribute to these extraordinary women for their exemplary success,” read a statement.

On 8th March, the channel will showcase small video bytes of these extraordinary women in intervals, while different SUN Bangla actors will be seen introducing them.
