MUMBAI: Our relationship with TV villains is weird. We just love to hate them. There are a few actors who have chosen negative characters to be their forte. They may dabble in positive roles, but negative roles seem to bring out the best in them.
The nominees for this week’s Showters’ Choice of the Week Best Actor in a Negative Role included some of Indian Television’s top stars: Anita Hassandani, Anjali Anand, Hina Khan, Rehaan Roy, Monalisa Biwas and Monica Khanna.
Anita Hassandani was already popular before playing Shagun in “Yeh Hai Mohabbatein”, but this role has catapulted her into the top ranks of iconic villains of Indian Television history. She is appreciated by fans worldwide who have selected her as the TellyChakkar Showters’ Choice Best Actor in a Negative Role, with 82% Yes Showts.
Coming in second with 65% Yes Showts is Hina Khan, who first rose to fame with “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” by playing the character of Akshara. Hina was a “Bigg Boss 11” finalist. Hina is currently seen in “Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2,” essaying the negative role of Komollika.
Coming in close at third with 63% Yes Showts is Monalisa Biwas, currently seen in “Nazar.”
Coming in fourth with 58% Yes Showts is Anjali Anand, who is known for “ Dhai Kilo Prem” and is currently portraying the role of Lovely in “Kulfi Kumar Bajewala.”
Rehaan Roy, who is playing the role of Parv Singh in “Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega” and Dushasana in “Karn Sangini” received 36% Yes Showt.
Lastly, Monica Khanna who has made a name for the negative role of Zeenath in the show “Ishq Subhaan Allah,” received 29% Yes Showts.
We congratulate Anita and Hina for being the winner and runner-up for TellyChakkar Showters’ Choice Best Actor in a Negative Role. You two are really great at being really bad!
