MUMBAI: While some television stars stay with their respective shows for the entire run, others choose to move on and pursue other projects — even if the network isn’t quite ready to let go of the them just yet. Although a star’s exit can sometimes leave both the network and the viewers in a tough spot, there are some television shows that continued successfully even after losing a lead actor.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest running sitcoms on Indian television. However, one popular funny character Dayaben (played by Disha Vakani) quit the show, but her exit didn't affect the soap. In fact, the sitcom continues to entertain fans and has been gaining popularity with each passing day.
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai too is one of the longest running soaps. The soap has managed to keep the audience to date, even after Hina Khan, known for playing the quintessential bahu in the serial for eight long years, left the show.
Well, this is the striking similarity between the two shows.
