Cashin' In sits down with TV celebs to know well they handle their financial matters, and tracks their spending patterns. "Money can be the means to be happy, but certainly it cannot be the ends" "Money is very important" I will leave no stone unturned to become rich and earn all the wordly comforts. But that doesn't mean compromising on my principles and morals. I won't stoop to a lowly extent to earn a living. "But it can't buy happiness" In fact, happiness and money do not go hand in hand. "I love globe trotting" My profession demands frequent visits to some place or the other every month. My recent trip was to South Africa and will soon be off to Pondicherry for a shoot. Whenever I visit a new place, I make sure to get hold of a soveniour. "I am a technical engineer... "I live for the day" I am very tad when it comes to saving. What is the point of hoarding whatever you earn? You never know what might happen the next moment. However, after having faced the music from my parents, I have entrusted the job of securing my hard earned income in the hands of my CA. "Money and wealth are different concepts" Wealth is something you cannot enjoy as it only gives you status in the society and is meant to be safeguarded. Whereas money is for spending on the things you want own. "Gizmos are my investments" I own the latest models; be it my laptop, my ipod, cameras, etc. In addition to these, I have got hold of some mutual funds and life insurance policies, primarily to evade tax (laughs). "No stock trading for me" Dealing in the share market is not my cup of tea. I am a technical engineer, hence have no background of commerce. Besides, I do not consider investing in stocks to be a wise decision. "Real estate is a safe bet" Just recently I bought a plot, and the process of procuring a home loan and other nitty gritties are still on. Such investments certainly render profits in the long run. Considering the boom in this sector, I am sure of being on the right track. "My costeliest buy was a Honda City" I gifted a this car to my father. And recently I bought a notepad which dug a hole of one and half lakh in my pocket! But it is worth each penny as it is the latest model to hit the market. "I carry around 1000 bucks on a daily basis" In case of an emergency I rely on my credit and debit cards.
