When I bought a big house for my mother in Mumbai

Muskaan Mehani
A page from the personal diary of Muskaan Mehani I am very attached to my mother. She has always treated me like a son. We are from Gujarat and have a big and beautiful house there. As I shifted to Mumbai to get into acting my mother started house-hunting in the city so that I am comfortable here. After an intensive search she could not zero down on even one good house that suited our needs. Mumbai is very expensive and even small houses cost more and the ones she liked were over our budget. Meanwhile I was busy saving money and searching houses so that I could gift one to her. One day I received a call from an estate agent who said that there was one house in Malad and if I wanted to check it out. I never thought I would be finalizing the house that same day and just went to check it out, casually. As soon as I entered it, I sensed a very positive vibe and the house seemed very happy full of natural light. I just could not believe that I had finally got the house I had been looking for months and immediately I finalized the deal. Soon I got the possession and took my mother to the house saying that we are going to meet one of my friends. As I was standing outside the house I gave the keys to my mother and said 'This is for you'. She was shocked and kept looking at me without even blinking her eyes as she got something unexpected from me. I told her that it was a gift from daughter to her mother and we both started crying. She immediately replied that it was actually a gift from her son and that it was an indescribable feeling. I am getting emotional as I am saying this but that day is very precious to me. My mother still remembers it and we both get very emotional whenever we talk about it.
