Akshay Kelkar, Abhishek of Sony SAB’s Bhakharwadi, wishes a safe Dahi Handi to all the Govindas

Bhakharwadi

MUMBAI: Janmashtami is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm in Maharashtra and our very own ‘Maharshtra cha Mulga’ Akshay Kelkar (Abhishek in Sony SAB's Bhakharwadi) has something to say on this auspicious occasion of Janmashtami.

Remembering his childhood days, Akshay shared, "As a kid, I used to be super excited for Janmashtami and Dahi Handi in order to break that matki. I would blindfold myself and try hitting the matki with a stick. It used to be a lot of fun then."

Talking about how things have changed now around this festival, Akshay claims "I don't like to go out now during Dahi Handi as there is a lot of chaos everywhere, taking away the charm of this festival. People get hurt so many times and many have also made a business out of it. My sincere request to everyone celebrating this festival is that please be in a secure atmosphere and do not indulge in anything dangerous to your life. Have a happy Janmashtami with your family and have lots of Maakhan."
