Bollywood’s Backbenchers being schooled by Farah Khan

Bollywood’s Backbenchers being schooled by Farah Khan

MUMBAI: Ever wondered which subject did your favourite Bollywood celebrity like? Or what mischief were they upto in school? Were they also like all of us, the class backbenchers? Flipkart Video has launched its first Original show, Backbenchers…a one of its kind quiz shows, where your favorite Bollywood celebrities are taken back to school by Farah Khan.

The show hit the Flipkart Android app on the 19th of October and - guess what - it was amongst the topmost discussed topic on social media! The show was already trending on platforms like Twitter and why not; it boasts of a stellar roster of celebrities both from the film and sports fraternity along with the most affable host Farah Khan, who is known for her no-holds-barred one-liners and tongue-in-cheek humour.

Anil Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Sania Mirza, Tapsee Panu, Parineeti Chopra vie to occupy the seat in Farah Khan's classroom. Farah's questions are tricky and the first episode saw both Anil Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty develop cold feet when Farah took their test of spellings. While on the other hand Bhumi Pednekar and Tapsee Pannu went head to head in an episode aptly named the “Saandh Ki Aankh Special”.

Every episode will see stars trying to get the position of a backbencher in Dean Farah’s class. Contestants go through a series of oral as well as written tests that results in the show being extremely fun to watch.

Netizens find this concept one of its kinds as it is a far cry from the mundane.  And the banter between the host and the celebrities really gives the show the desi tadka that we all cherish, even if it is secretly.

After watching the show, netizens are pretty active using hashtags on various social media engagement platforms with the Tiktok step of the day challenge where Farah Khan challenged Anil Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar to match her moves and the same challenge has been thrown to TikTok fans, where they stand a chance to win prizes from Flipkart. Another hashtag doing the rounds is #BackbencherTalent, where students are putting up videos of their hidden talents and college groups are challenging one another to a dance battle.

The show is a must watch for all you Bollywood fans who can check out the first 2 episodes which are live on the Flipkart Android app under the Videos section. New episodes are added every weekend, so stay tuned.
