MUMBAI: Kabir Singh, which starred Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, was the most controversial film of the year. It did rake in good box office numbers, but it was criticized for its misogynistic plot.
As we are inching closer to the year end, Bollywood actresses like Alia Bhatt, Yami Gautam, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar came together for Round Table conference.
The promo of the show was put by Rajeev Masand’s on his social media, as seen in the promo of Round Table conference, when the actresses were asked about the male-centric films of Bollywood, Taapsee reacted on the same and said that after watching Vijay Deverakonda starrer Arjun Reddy she decided to not watch Kabir Singh.
In an conversation with Mumbai Mirror, when Taapsee was asked about Kabir Singh, she had said, ‘Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy are not the only films glorifying misogyny, there are several others too but not to this extent. That is one of the reasons why I do the kind of films I do, there should be a counter narrative too.’
