Rahuol Lohani says Ekta Kapoor is a creative genius

Dhanush’s Kolaveri Di became a national rage. There wasn’t a single person who was unaware of this song. So trying to bank upon the success of this song, a comedy play has been titled Kolaveri Family. “The name is catchy and popular and brings along a certain level of curiosity with it,” says actor Rahuol Lohani who plays Vijay in this comedy. “Yesterday was our second show and we have been receiving good response.” Though Rahuol has been missing on the small screen for quite some time, he has some great shows to boast being part of like Gulaal and Balika Vadhu, apart from others. Having been associated with both TV and theatre, which medium does he prefer? “Live audiences give you a high. It is a different experience and you immediately know if you are going right or not. For television, on the other hand, you have to wait for the TRPs,” says Rahuol. This actor was also part of one of the longest running dailies in the history of Indian television, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. And talking about Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms, Rahuol is all praises: “Ekta is a creative genius; she knows which actor will fit a specific role and how a performer should react. It’s all in her mind.” In fact, he thinks the scion has done brilliantly for herself. “There was a time when people thought that Ekta’s time is gone, however she bounced back. She has the capacity to connect to the new generation and that helps her be the successful lady she is.” Talking about his own likes and dislikes, Rahuol says he would love to get into direction and editing. “I would love to get into these two fields. I am also into writing,” he ends.
