Mandira Bedi is back. After pregnancy leave, this noodle strap beauty will again anchor Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star 2 which is returning after a break of four years on Star Plus. "One of the main reasons for saying yes to this Endemol concept (face- off between previous singing reality show winners and runner-ups) was that I had great fun hosting it the last time and the project takes a week of my time. I have worked out an arrangement with my director hubby, Raj (Kaushal) according to which the day I am away from home on work, he will stay back and take care of our son, Vir," shared Mandira to Tellychakkar.com. When asked to define the role of an anchor, Mandira – who has hosted other shows over the years as well like Fame Gurukul and Deal Ya No Deal – said, "Our job is to hold the show together." She also dismissed allegations of reality shows being rigged, "We have a very strong auditor process to weed out such malpractices." Mandira, who changed the face of cricket broadcasting with her Extraaa Innings avatar on Set Max is not worried that launch of Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star 2 is taking place alongside IPL (Indian Premiere League) season 5. "Last time also we had aired along with IPL premier season, where we got good numbers, so it recflects that both can co-exist". So, why do we not see you on IPL again (she was part of the first two seasons)? "Well, I have grown as a person and I don't think that at this stage I should still be standing on the boundary line asking players what do they feel about their performances. Many players who I first spoke to in 2003 ICC World Cup have already retired." Moving on, very few people remember that Mandy (as she is lovingly called by everyone) has been in the TV business for more than seventeen years now. She was the face of this country’s first daily soap, Shanti. She also played a very important role in Balaji’s Kyun Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. But since then, she has stayed away from doing fiction shows. "Yes, I found the concepts very regressive but since the past year and a half, I have seen strong female protagonists coming around. Hence after Jo Jeeta, which ends in three months, I might consider returning to fiction," she signed off.
