MUMBAI: Popular drama series 9-1-1 expands its reach to the city of Austin, Texas with 9-1-1: Lone Star; co-created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear. The show follows the life of Owen Strand, played by Rob Lowe who along with his troubled firefighter son T.K. played by Ronen Rubenstein; as they move to Texas in the wake of an unfortunate incident. Starting 20th January, catch 9-1-1: Lone Star, with a new episode every Monday only on Hotstar Premium.
Speaking about the show, actor Rob Lowe said, “Ryan Murphy and I have been trying to find something to do together for about 15 years! I loved 9-1-1- the original show, and they came to me with a very different iteration of it. To bring to life these characters who are based on people who are actually out on the trenches saving lives every single day is a profound honor for me.”
He added, “This world supports humor and the real-life stakes; a lot of shows do either-or but very few do both. What I really love about Lone Star is the tone. It’s a well-rounded, really interesting ensemble.”
Nearly 20 years ago, OWEN STRAND was the lone survivor of his Manhattan firehouse on 9/11. In the wake of the attack, Owen had the unenviable task of rebuilding his station. After a similar tragedy happens to a firehouse in Austin, Owen, along with his troubled firefighter son, T.K. takes his progressive philosophies of life and firefighting down to Texas, where he helps them start anew. On the surface, Owen is all about big-city style and swagger, but underneath he struggles with a secret he hides from the world – one that could very well end his life.
