What's Lola Doing this Diwali?

The most famous Malayalee veejay is going to be lazing around, recuperating from a hectic three days in Goa. "I will be sleeping the whole day. Why should I jump around? Like a good Malayalee girl, I will oil my hair and wear my favourite new gold jewellery set and wear a shocking pink, mithai pink saree. For us Malayalees all that glitters is gold," she says. She will follow it up with a visit to a Maharashtrian friend for dinner.

The wannabe veejays had a round with me. The channel had told me to be tough with them, and I was, and they survived." Lola however points out that she does not really celebrate Deepawali (that's what it is called in the south), her favourite festival is Onam. "As a 11 year old child I had taken a vow not to burst firecrackers as they add to noise and other pollution. Also children make the firecrackers in Sivakasi." But she is looking forward to eating cashew ka mithai and besan ka ladoo (two Indian sweet meats). "My aunt will get it for me from somewhere, maybe Cheddha stores," she says. She says she is looking forward to the Maharashtrian cuisine at her friend's place in the evening .But no gambling for me. For starters I don't have enough money and I don't want to lose what i have gambling it away," she says with a laugh.
