Tall, beautiful and sexy Karishma Tanna entered the gates of the television industry eight years ago and since then, she has spilled her acting magic in shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahi Toh Milenge, Kkusum, amongst others. But this ambitious actress wants to spread her wings and make it big in the world of celluloid as well. Karisma will be seen in Y-Films' next project called Gollu Pappu which is being directed by Kabir Sadanand and the leads are Sandeep Dhar, Kunal Roy and Veer Das. Karishma plays one of the leads in the movie. When we asked her about her big leap from TV to films she shared her back story with us. "My first offer was a south Indian film but back then since I was too young and not very sure about doing movies, I declined the offer. Apart from that my family was also conservative and did not want me to do movies. I knew that my dad would have never spoken to me if I would have signed any film. So I opted for television. But unfortunately I never knew that the transition from TV to films will be such a difficult task." So how does it feel to be a part of a big banner film now? "It's beautiful as I have waited really long for this to happen. And this is my opportunity to show people that TV actors can act. I think Vicky Donor has managed to do magic with two TV actors (Ayushman Khurana and Yami Gautam) making the big leap. They both have done a fabulous job.” Furthermore, she also feels that she is now more experienced and has emerged as an actress. “Yes, in these years I have learnt a lot. In fact, a lot has changed as far as my outlook towards films is concerned. Since I belonged to an orthodox family film industry wasn’t safe. But now that I know how to deal with people, I am more confident.” We wish her all the very best!!!
