Mouni Roy was reluctant to play Sati in Life OK's Mahadev

Indian television got to see one of the most gorgeous looking goddesses in the form of Mouni Roy as Sati on Devon Ke Dev….Mahadev on Life OK. This pretty looking actress’ stint in the show is now over but in a conversation with Tellychakkar.com, she shared, “I never wanted to do a mythological show. When the production house (Triangle Film Company) called me for this role my answer was a straight ‘no’. However, they asked me to visit them where they explained me the character and showed me the story board. And the way things were explained it looked like a grand project and it was indeed a very grand one. Even the costumes were perfect. So to sum up, after Mahadev, now I have different thoughts altogether on doing mytho shows.” Talking about her Mahadev experience she further said, “It was a universal love story and a difficult concept to deal with. The creative team has done an amazing job. In fact, we worked meticulously on my costume which included from having a flower on my hair to the entire draping.” Usually stars take a lot of time to dress up and especially when it’s a historical or a mythological show, the effort usually doubles up. But Mouni has always been swift in the scheme of things. “You can’t take two hours to get dressed when there is so much other work is to be done. We would always try and finish everything in a matter of 40 to 30 minutes, which included draping the saree and putting make-up simultaneously. The entire session also included wearing varied jewellery.” So how was your experience playing Sati? “At the end of the day after shooing, I used to have bruises on my hands and thorns on my feet. There were scenes wherein I had to run in the jungle and on river bank. I used to enact the scenes barefooted and there were days when I walked on rocks which were very hot due to the sun. After having played Sati, I think I can do anything.” We are glad you enjoyed playing Sati, Mouni. Have a great year ahead!!!
