Come September 2012, the month is set to go down as a month when films of four big heroines would be released.
It is already known that Madhur Bhandarkar’s Kareena Kapoor-starrer Heroine will release on 21 September (2012) and so are the release dates of R Balki’s Sridevi-starrer English Vinglish and Preity Zinta’s Ishq In Paris. The Rani Mukerji-starrer Aiyaa releases a week later on 28 September.

While Heroine is about a successful actress whose career is in a bad phase, English Vinglish will see Sridevi, in the central role of a housewife, who enrolls for an English speaking course in order to please her husband and family. The film marks the return of the heroine after a 14-year sabbatical. Interestingly, Amitabh Bachchan has done a cameo absolutely free of cost for English Vinglish.
Moving on, the Preity Zinta film will see the actress in the role of a half-Indian half-French girl who falls in love in Paris while Aiyaa has Rani Mukerji. The story of the film is about a Marathi girl falling in love with a Tamil artist as he smells good. In short, the film is a quirky and funny love story with the backdrop of a West-South cultural clash.
Viacom 18, Gazing Goat Pictures and Playtime Creations’ Oh My God, starring Akshay Kumar, is the only male-oriented film that also releases on 28 September thus saving the month from a total men-oriented film washout.
We’ll have to see if the women can prevail upon God or it is the other way round.
