Bhonsle: Manoj Bajpayee shares open letter to his 'karmabhumi' Mumbai

As actor Manoj Bajpayee’s 2018 film Bhonsle released today, on an OTT platform, the actor shares a video message with an open letter to Mumbai, expressing his love for the city that accepts migrants wholeheartedly.

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee’s 2018 film Bhonsle was scheduled to release on June 26, 2020. The film stars Manoj Bajpayee in a pivotal role, who is also the co-producer of the movie. Directed by Devashish Makhija, the first look of the film was released in the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.  As Manoj Bajpayee’s 2018 film Bhonsle released today on OTT platform SonyLiv, the actor shares a video message for all his fans out there. The actor shares an open letter to Mumbai, expressing his love for the city that accepts migrants wholeheartedly.

Taking to his Instagram account, the actor shared a video and captioned it, “Bihar Mumbai and me An open letter addressed to Mumbai, my कर्मभूमि. Do watch this and #BhonsleTheMovie on #SonyLIV.” In the post’s caption, the actor expressed how his video is an open letter to the city of Mumbai and asks fans to watch his upcoming film Bhonsle.

In the video, the actor opens up on the time he arrived in Mumbai from Bihar, about 26 years back. Speaking of his arrival in the city, Manoj Bajpayee mentioned that the city accepted him wholeheartedly back then and called Mumbai, his ‘karmabhumi’. The actor then shared that he is a Bihari Mumbaikar. Later in the video, talking about his character of Ganpath Bhonsle in the film Bhonsle, Bajpayee said that even though he has played many roles as a Marathi man over the years, this character will be intriguing and interesting and win the audience with his silence and performance. Bhonsle is based on a retired Mumbai police officer who befriends a North Indian girl and her brother, when the local politicians are trying to get rid of the migrants in the city. In the film, Manoj Bajpayee plays the character of Ganpath Bhonsle.
