MUMBAI: Raksha Bandhan is here. The festival celebrates the bond between siblings and holds different importance to everyone. And "Boondi Raita" actor Himansh Kohli shared that this day made him realise his responsibility as a brother. He also revealed that this year he and his sister Disha will have a small celebration at their home because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
"Rakshabandhan is a very special festival. It's the day when I first felt responsible towards someone. I felt like I have to be a better person and set an example for my little sister and protect her from all evils," the "Yaariyan" actor said.
Himansh further said that usually, on Rakhi, all his cousins come to his Delhi home and the entire family enjoys the day together. But this year, the Coronavirus pandemic and the consequent lockdown has ruined their plans.
"Usually we decorate the house, make arrangements together, cook together, go out for movies, shopping, and chilling. But, this year it's just Disha and me. So, Rakshabandhan will be celebrated taking care of all the pandemic norms. One thing I love about Rakhi is that I always look forward to festivals with mithais because I have a very sweet tooth, and Rakhi is one such festival. I'm really looking forward to this festival," he said.
Himansh quipped that he will also save some money this year because of the current pandemic situation.
"I'll also save my pocket, else Disha's shopping list kills me everytime. So, I'll try to avoid shopping on the pretense of Coronavirus," he said.
Asked him to share a Rakhi memory, he said, "One Rakhi memory would be when I was 13 or 14 years old and my dad got gifts for his sister, and my mother got goodies from her brother. But, I was so exited that I not only opened my gifts but others gifts too. Even the ones that were not gifted yet. No wonder I was in a lot of trouble and got beaten up by both of them. I really miss those stupid days."
