MUMBAI: To lead the team of 4-policemen, Bihar Superintendent of Police (SP) Vinay Tiwari was sent to Mumbai to probe into the alleged suicide case of Sushant Singh Rajput. Following the Coronavirus norms, the officer was sent for quarantine by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation upon his arrival at Mumbai airport on Aug 2. Seeking the release of his SP, Bihar's Director General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey wrote a letter to BMC but all went in vain. Not only that, but even the Supreme Court had also questioned Mumbai Police’s move of quarantining the officer.

Soon after the Sushant Singh Rajput case was handed over to CBI by Bihar Police, the team returned to Patna and IPS officer Vinay Tiwari too was released from isolation. This morning, the Bihar SP returned to Patna. But before going back to Patna, Tiwari said it wasn’t him who was in isolation, it was the investigation that was forcibly quarantined. Before leaving he told ANI, “I would say I wasn’t quarantined, the investigation was quarantined. Investigation of Bihar police was obstructed.” Soon after returning to Patna, Bihar cops issued the first statement.
Yesterday, after ED filed a money laundering case against Rhea Chakraborty and brother Showik, they arrived at the office to record their statements. As per reports, the Jalebi actress was grilled for 8-9 hours, while manager Shruti Modi was released after 7 hours of interrogation. Rumours were also rife that the actress wasn’t cooperating with the department officials.
However, the actress’ lawyer Satish Maneshinde quashed the rumours and said they have nothing to hide and she will appear next time too if she’s been asked.
