Sony Entertainment Television’s Kuch Toh Log Kahenge recently completed 200 episodes and the cast and crew was super elated on achieving the feat. We caught up with the show’s female lead, Kritika Kamra aka Dr Nidhi, amd asked about his experience in the serial.
“It doesn’t feel like 200 episodes it just seems to be a big number to me. And when I rewind this journey in my head it feels like it just started. Though, a lot of hard work has gone in as we worked every single day to make things happen. But, it’s been so much fun that it feels like it just started yesterday.”

A lot has changed in the recent past in Kuch Toh… hence recollecting all of it the actor said, “From Mohnish ji (Bahl) to Sharad (Kelkar) playing doctor Ashutosh, to the time slot change, I have seen it all.” After a pause she added, “This show has also been the first one where I have been married so early on Indian television. Otherwise, I am usually wed in the last episodes (laughs).”
When asked what changes is the actress looking forward to in the coming episodes and she said, “I just hope that the show retains the flavour. That certain amount of audience that the show has created should stay with us. However, one interesting thing that I have experienced with this serial is that all the uncles have started liking my work. I remember earlier people would come up to me and say my mother likes your role but these days all fathers like it. The show has a niche audience but they are loyal.”
The story was earlier based on Dhoop Kinare so is it still going on? “Dhoop Kinare got over long back and since then they have been building up on the same story.” Does this mean the story is being stretched? “Every daily soap is stretched.” So doesn’t it get boring for you as an actor? “It gets monotonous to do the same thing but that’s challenging in itself. You must have something that motivates you every single day.”
So what motivates Kritika? “For me instant feedback and my team’s presence work. When I am appreciated for a certain scene and when my director comes and hugs me it helps me pull through the hectic work schedule.”
The audience is still waiting to see Karan Kundra and Kritika together. “Legacy that Kitani Mohabbat Hai has created will continue. And there is no doubt about our chemistry as we have known each other from closely. In fact our chemistry was great that is why we were cast together in the first place. I just hope this feeling that our fans have for us stays alive till we get a show to work together on.”
So do you plan to act always or is there is something else that interests you? “People on sets tease me because I have direction ka keeda. I always want to learn more and more about direction. In fact there are times when my director pulls my leg when I give my inputs in direction. Basically I like the technical aspect but I am acting for good and I am acting for sure.”
