She is the svelte, leggy lass who has matched strides with the best models on ramps across the globe. She is young, sexy and a photographer’s delight! Pia Trivedi comes with loads of attitude, oomph and style and is one of the hottest faces on Channel V on which she hosts a show. Born in Mumbai, Pia did her schooling from Bombay Scottish and then made her foray into the modelling world. A complete foodie with a penchant for travelling, Pia is full of life and energy. Her much loved hangout is the coffee bar and her favourite indulgences include ice creams and loads of coffee. She is an avid shopper and also loves working out in the gym. Impressed by the bikes in the movie Dhoom, Pia would love to ride one of those mean machines some day. In a free wheeling chat with tellychakkar Pia speaks on herself and her life as a Veejay. What does Veejaying mean to you? Veejaying for me is having a blast. I enjoy working. It’s so much fun to come every day for work. Veejays have a short shelf life. Does this make you insecure? I don’t think that Veejays have short shelf life. Modelling is a tough job as it’s difficult to sustain that competition as there are so many girls entering this field. Veejaying is a very comfortable job; it’s just that one should know how to communicate. I have a great team in here and also good friends who make me feel secure and comfortable. Juhi is here since 4 years. Gaurav and Purab were with the channel for 5 to 6 years. Who says it is a short life? What is the best and worst thing about your job? The best thing about this job is that you don’t need to act. You can be yourself. The worst thing about it is that you have to watch what you do in public as you are a public figure and they idolise you. One wrong move can create a great deal of problems for you and your fans. Who is your favourite Veejay? Sophie is the one who I idolise. My house is near Channel V’s office and when I was small I always wished to meet Sophie. Today I’m standing here. Some Veejays put on fake accent while talking. Your take? I don’t think Veejays put on some kind of accent while talking. Each individual have his own style. In this job the must know thing is languages like English and Hindi. I have my own unique style. I don’t need to put on a fake accent. What according to you sets you apart from the rest? I have my own personality. In this field one needs to be an extrovert but I’m an introvert and this I feel is what makes me different from others. My strength is that I always get good feedback when it comes to fashion. One big plus point for me is that where other Veejays had to start from scratch, I was aware of camera angles and also knew how to interact with the media. What is your choice of music? Everything from hip-hop and R& B to soft rock. What do you loathe? Lies and liars. Are you in a relationship? No. I am single and ready to mingle. What are your future plans? Of course the next step will be acting in Bollywood films.
