MUMBAI : Actor Amitriyaan, who has a background in theatre, has not only won awards and accolades in Marathi cinema, but he has made a name for himself in Bollywood and South cinema, too. Amitriyaan did his first film with Sangeeth Sivan and his debut in Marathi - Manya - The Wonder Boy won him the best debut award at Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival. Finally, Ram Gopal Varma spotted him and he gave a wonderful performance in Satya 2. His work in the recent Rajwade & Sons has also been appreciated by masses. The Satya 2 actor feels that versatility and good choice of films is important in a film career.
He said, "I may have done many regional films and won awards, but Satya 2 was one of the important milestones in my career. Bollywood, now is focussing on content based films and I would love to work with filmmakers who can tap my potential. I love the way Ayushmann Khurana or Pankaj Tripathi have made a way into people's hearts."
Bollywood actors like Nana Patekar and Amol Palekar have enjoyed Amritriyaan's work and have also sent him compliments for the way he adopts any character for a movie.
However, Amitriyaan feels it is important to move out of the comfort zone and explore different content on various platforms. He has already done a Tamil film “Naanthanda”, directed by Ram Gopal Varma. His next film will also be in Hindi and he will essay a Pakistani terrorist. He also did a web series Peshawar. He said, "I believe in working hard and focus on interesting roles. My versatility will prove that I have the ability to do a variety of roles. Hoping that I get good opportunities."
