Nice guys don't often come first. So, goes the popular saying. This holds true for Zulfi Syed who failed to win Bigg boss 2 despite being touted as a favourite. The soft spoken Urdu speaking Zulfi resembled a picture of serenity throughout his stay in the Bigg Boss house. It's very hard to get him to say anything. Read on to know what this actor has to say on his just concluded Bigg Boss experience. It's almost a week since Bigg Boss ended. Has Zulfi come back to his world? Well, it's only today that I feel relaxed. I'm at the Goa film festival where my film Taj Mahal is being screened. I'm very disturbed by the terrors attacks in Mumbai. After Rahul quit the show, you were tipped as the favourite to win Bigg Boss 2. How disappointed are you at not winning? I'm not utterly disappointed. It was not in my destiny to win. Though, I don't think it was right on Rahul's part to urge the people to vote for Ashutosh when he left. I'm told that that one can send 100 SMSes from one mobile phone. Are you sensing any foul play from Rahul? No, it's not foul play. These were his last words before leaving the Bigg Boss house that is what Rahul said to the viewers. I don't think that was right. What wrong did Zulfi do that he couldn't win the contest? I don't think I did anything wrong. You guys must have seen me. As far as I know, I didn't make any mistake. But you did lie to Debojit about Diana Hayden nominating him for eviction? No, I didn't lie. That was a grave error on my part. That was the day of nomination. What happened then was that Diana had said sorry to Debojit straight after coming out of the confession room. That led me to believe that Diana had nominated Debojit for eviction. However, it was later that I learnt that it wasn't Diana but Raja who had nominated Debojit. The winner of Bigg Boss' inaugural season was one who remained calm, composed and never indulged in any bitching. You too had these traits but you didn't win. Did being a nice guy turn against you? Winning was never on my mind. I came here to experience what it is like to stay in the Bigg Boss house. Though, I must confess there are times the lure of big prize money does cross your mind. However, after seeing all the bitching, gossiping, I wondered how people can stoop so low to make money. I wasn't going to do the same. That's why I preferred to stay away from all such bickering. Often other housemates nominated you citing that you were lazy and didn't much work in the house. Is that true? I did the maximum work – be it from cooking to cleaning. It was lies. Rahul used to swear by the Gods and yet lie in the confession room. When Raja was kept in the secret room, it was you who appeared to be expressing solidarity towards him and predicted that he'll back –which he did. However, thereafter Raja nominated you citing that you were lazy. That's his way of thinking. May be he was scared of nomination and that's why he resorted to such things. How many friends did you make? Debojit and Ahsaan Qureshi have become good friends. Rahul too isn't a bad guy. Who was the messiest housemate? Ashutosh. All his stuff was lying everywhere. He should have realised that this isn't his dhabha. A house should always be kept clean. Bigg Boss 2 was full of vulgarity. Will you agree? I didn't know what was being aired but the language that was used by some was really bad. One mustn't lose sight of the fact that you're on national TV. Once you come out, you will have to face the world. Besides your own family members are also watching. I went into the house with dignity and am glad to have come out with my dignity intact. Surprisingly, your Hindi left a lot to be desired. Was there dubbing for you in Taj Mahal? No, I used my own voice in Taj Mahal. There's never any dubbing. My mother tongue is Urdu, which contains barely 25 percent of Hindi words. That's the normal way I speak. Will Bigg Boss help revive your Bollywood career? I'm hoping it does. I've already been offered a script after coming out of Bigg Boss. I've always been choosy about my films. Your film Desh Drohi created quite a controversy in Maharashtra. What's your take on it? I'm not aware of any controversy. Besides, I have a very minor role in the film. I don't even know what this film is all about. What's next for you? As told earlier, I've got a good script in my hand. Films apart, I'd also like to do more stuff on TV. I won't mind taking up another reality show.
