MUMBAI: Yesterday, on the one hand, it was good news for team Rhea as the actress was granted bail, but on the other hand, her brother Showik’s bail was rejected by the Bombay High Court.
As per CNN News 18, his bail was rejected by the court as he was aware of the drug business he was doing and he transacted with drug dealers.
The HC also said that there was ample evidence to prove that he was involved in the syndicate of drugs and that’s why he cannot be granted bail.
The court also said that he was supplying to multiple people, not only to Sushant Singh Rajput. Few transactions between the drug peddlers and Showik were seen in his bank accounts.
Even the drug peddlers who were arrested had confirmed that there were procuring drugs for him.

A lot of digital evidence against Showik in the form of WhatsApp chats was also produced which established his link in the drug nexus business.
His lawyer did put forth the point that the NCB had no jurisdiction in investigating the case but the HC dismissed it by saying that the subject of the matter of the NCB is drugs, which has no connection with the SSR case. Hence, they can go ahead with the investigation.
Let’s not forget it was Showik who had named Rhea in the drug business and said that he used to procure drugs for her and SSR.
