Jheel Mehta opts out of Taarak Mehta in order to focus on studying

Some children take their studies so seriously that they would leave any lucrative offer to pursue it further, while there are some who are so confident of themselves that they don’t mind sailing on two boats that means doing their studies along with the extra-curricular activities that come their way. The first scenario seems to be the case of Jheel Mehta aka Sonu of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (SAB TV), who has opted out of the sitcom for her SSC studies. On the other hand, let’s take the case of Darsheel Safary who, in spite of being in SSC, is freely shaking his legs on Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Two distinguished child actors of small screen, we must say! Now, moving on with the story…last week, Nidhi Bhanushali was introduced in Neela Telefilm’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah as a new entry and Jheel’s replacement. Undoubtedly, Jheel’s absence might come as a surprise to scores of viewers, as she was part of the show since its conception. We got in touch with Jheel’s father to know the reason behind her leaving the project. “Jheel is in SSC right now and we think education must be given the priority over everything in this stage. Managing both, shows and studies was becoming tiring for Jheel. Hence, she decided to opt out the show,” confirmed Jheel’s anxious father. Didn’t the production house ask Jheel to stay back considering the fact that her association with Taarak Mehta was for long? “No, they didn’t,” averred Jheel’s father. Now as Jheel has taken a break for her studies, will she return in the show after her exams wrap up? “We have not thought of it till now, but studies are what we are concentrating at the moment.” We have however come to know that Jheel had to quit the show because the production house was adamant on not adjusting her work schedule. Hope viewers accept the new Sonu gradually!
