Neil Nitin Mukesh ventures into new genre with 3G

Eros International and Next Gen Film’s psychological thriller 3-G, directed by Bejoy Nambiar starring Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonal Chauhan, is a psychological-horror film that deals with the sixth sense. With this film, Neil has tried his hand in a different genre. “It's easier to get into a comfort zone and do the same predictable scripts. It’s a challenge to crack something different, 3G offers that,” Neil observed. The film recently had a 50-day schedule in the picturesque Fiji Islands. The long gap, away from Bollywood, gave the cast and crew of the film ample time to bond. Thinking that it would be a schedule that will only involve shooting, Neil had packed hi S2, keyboard, laptops, Nintendo Wii, Karaoke, cameras, lens, speakers and headphones. But to his amazement, it went contrary. Whenever time permitted, the entire team would catch up on films. They along with Neil and Sonal, watched some of their favourite animated films like The Lion King, Monster House, Finding Nemo, Madagascar, Ice Age and Toy Story series. Apart from that, the team is to also indulge in card games not to mention, games on tablet computers. Says a source from the crew, “Shooting in Fiji for nearly two months, gave the entire cast a crew time to bond. Everyone was like a family unit staying awake until the wee hours of the morning playing cards or watching back-to-back films. It was fun.” 3G is scheduled to release end of this year (2012).
