Mum Bhai review: This crime thriller is worth your time

ALTBalaji’s Mum Bhai is now streaming, and here is full review of the show.

MUMBAI: One of the most loved genres of all time is the crime thriller. We have seen several movies made on the subject of dons versus the police, but this time, we are in for a web show on the subject. We will get to see a war between the cops and the bad boys set in the 80s and 90s. The 12-episode series is called Mum Bhai and is directed by Akshay Choubey. It stars some fine talent like Angad Bedi, Sandeepa Dhar, Sikandar Kher, Sameer Dharmadhikari, and Madhurima Roy.

The story is about a police officer in the 90s who wants to make it big in his department and want to be the best officer of all time by making maximum records. How his life changes after he becomes one of the most celebrated cops and how his relation with his best friend Rama changes form the crux.

The screenplay is very engaging and fast paced. At rare points, it does lose grip but gets back on track before it’s too late. The direction is decent and the era of 80s and 90s is shown beautifully in the show.

Talking about the performances, Angad Bedi nails it with a brilliant performance and does justice to the role of Inspector Bhaskar Shetty. It will not be wrong to say that this is an out-and-out Angad show. Moreover, Sikandar Kher as a goon named Rama has also delivered a superb performance. A special mention is needed to the accent they both have carried throughout the show. The other cast like Sandeepa Dhar, Sameer Dharmadhikari, and Madhurima Roy were decent.

The positive point is the screenplay of the show, which keeps you hooked to your seat. The performances of the leads are also a plus point of the show, along with the twists and turns in the storyline.

The negative point is that the action sequences were poor and not up to the mark, especially the gun sequences, which were not graphically enhanced and looked animated.

Well, overall, the series is worth your time, and if you are a fan of crime thrillers, this one is surely for you.

Team TellyChakkar goes with 3.5 stars for Mum Bhai.
