Missing from Hitler Didi on Zee TV for quite some time, Abhinav Shukla, who essays the role of Haryanvi cop Sumer Singh, has formally put in his papers. “One fine day in June or July, when I was reading my script, I gathered that Sumer Singh would bid good bye to Hitler Didi in due course of time. Then and there only I guessed that my character might either be given a break or would be eased out. A little confused, I asked my Creative to come out with the facts. When he told me that they were still deciding, I asked him to let me know of their decision as soon as they finalized it,” shared Abhinav with Tellychakkar.com. “After a month and half of waiting, I decided to quit the show for I couldn’t just sit idle. Accordingly, I couriered a letter to the production house Trilogy Krikos informing them that as per the terms of the contract, I have decided to move on,” averred Abhinav. “According to law, one can give a month’s notice if he/she has a valid reason. Keeping this in mind, I expressed my intention to throw in the towel,” the actor quipped. So what was their reply? “They have not replied as yet. The least they could have done was at least inform me that my track will not be needed anymore. May be they were worried that if they tell me, I, like some actors, would not have done justice to my final scenes,” he observed, adding, “I guess the bad behaviour of some actors has lead to the creation of such kind of situation.” Looking ahead, Abhinav is in talks for a few telefilms and also films. “But I will not reveal anything till everything is finalized,” he concluded. When we contacted producer Ila Bedi Dutta for her comment, she remained unavailable.
