MUMBAI: Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan is all set to make his entry in Bollywood. Junaid, who has been trained working in theatre for a long time and has featured in many successful plays, will be making his debut through YRF entertainer.
The production house, which has launched actors like Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, among others, will be launching Junaid through a period drama. Reports claim that the film will be part of Yash Raj Film’s 50th-anniversary celebration. Scroll down to know more about it.
As per the sources, YRF’s period drama has been tentatively titled Maharaja, which will be directed by Siddharth P Malhotra. The filmmaker has previously helmed Rani Mukerji starrer Hichki. Sharwari Wagh, who will be making her debut through YRF’s Bunty Aur Babli 2, has been cast in the film Maharaja.
The report further stated that Jaideep Ahlawat, who is currently basking in the success of Amazon Prime Video web series Paatal Lok, has also been roped in the film. He will be playing the role of a religious leader named Jadunathji Brijratanji Maharaj who allegedly had sexual liaisons with his female devotees.

YRF’s upcoming film Maharaja is based on the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case, where the Maharaj filed a case against a journalist and reformer Karsandas Mulji for writing an article questioning the values of a Hindu sect called the Vallabhacharya Sampradaya which the Maharaj was a part of.
Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan will be playing the role of the journalist Karsandas Mulji, the report also stated that the makers of the film are constructing a set in Madh Island. Director Siddharth P Malhotra is eyeing to take the project on floors by early 2021.
