If the evergreen late actor Dev Anand had to be alive today, he would have celebrated his 89th birthday.
The celebrated actor, was not only an iconic hero and trendsetter, but also had a great personality and lived life on his own terms. He was truly the evergreen man of India cinema. The youth today can take a leaf out of this great man’s life who added a new dimension to cinema.

On this day, TV stars remember the late actor:
Beautiful and gracious Ragini Khanna, who is anchoring the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (Colors), says, “Dev Anand was an iconic hero. The one thing I would want to learn from him is to live life the way he lived; his ageing health never proving to be a deterring factor. I want to salute him for this kind of spirit rarely seen in many. My all time favourite movie of Dev Anandji will always be Guide. I must have watched the movie umpteen times. He will always live in our hearts as he leaves behind his amazing work.”
Comments Hiten Tejwani, who is seen as Manav in Pavitra Rishta (Zee TV), “Dev Saab is our evergreen star. He was an actor with a brave heart and a filmmaker way ahead of his time. He never cared about anyone and lived live on his own. Though he has given us many hit movies, but the one that is my all time favourite is Guide. I think, this cult movie, is among one of his best.”
Sharad Kelkar, aka Dr Ashutosh of Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (Sony Entertainment Television), avers, “Dev Saab was a trendsetter and a style icon of Bollywood who gave spur to Bollywood fashion. The current generations copy his style like wearing bell bottom pants, wearing sweaters on shoulders etc. Though Dev Saab was 88 when he passed away, he was very much young at heart. He was a free spirit who lived like one and died like one. He will always be with us in our hearts. Among the many epic films that he did, my favourites are Johny Mera Naam and Guide.”
Adds standup comedian Bharti Singh, “Wish if Dev Saab was alive, he would have celebrated his 89th birthday, but he still reins our hearts. May his soul rest in peace. My favourite film of Devji is Johny Mera Naam and I also love the song of the film Pal bhar ke liye koi hume pyaar kar le jhoota hi sahi, do din ke liye koi ikraar kar le jhoota hi sahi.”
“I had the privilege of meeting Dev Saab when I was just eight years old. When I told him that I had seen his film Guide and liked it, he was taken by surprise and could not believe that such a young kid can watch and like a film like Guide. But he was very happy. I think it is the only one DVD that I actually own. He was a super star and his hair style; walking style cannot be forgotten by people. But, today’s generation lacks that confidence and passion for their life. We really miss Dev Saab. May his soul rest in peace,” remarks handsome lad Nakuul Mehta, currently seen as Aditya in Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara.
Here’s saluting the great spirit…Dev Anand!!!
