Lalbaug Cha Raja, the most worshipped idol in Mumbai is taking a bow today. Situated in the central Mumbai locality of Lalbaug, it is said to be one of the best places to pray as the idol here fulfills wishes of every single person who goes there with hope in his heart.
The mandap at Lalbaug, is said to be one of the most crowded places to visit with serpentine crowds queuing up to have darshan of the lord. Be it common man or a celebrity, everyone has to wait for a darshan and bow down their heads in front of God.
Few television celebrities namely Munisha Khatwani, Mitali Nag, Neha Desai, Niaa Sharma, Gurmeet Choudhary and Kunal Kumar went to visit Lalbaug Cha Raja to seek the Raja’s blessing.
Here they shared their experience:
Munisha Khatwani, ace tarot card reader had gone there along with her friends Tanya Abrol of Chak De India fame and Mansi Verma. Shared Munisha. “It was a great darshan; I have been going there for years. I entered the premise through the gate meant for entry of VVIPs. I had to barely stand in the queue for 20 minutes after which I got the darshan. People recognized all t three of us. We had to literally cover our faces specially, Mansi and Tanya as they felt very shy. Thankfully, no one mobbed us.”
Niaa Sharma said “I went for the darshan with one of the news channels… it was blissful and divine. I prayed for the success of our show Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai.”
Stated Mitali Nag, who plays Krishna in Afsar Bitiya, “I have been going for Lalbaug Cha Raja darshan for years now. I entered through the VVIP entry but was unfortunate that I couldn’t touch the feet of Lord. However… I had a mukh darshan.”
“It was a blissful and a divine experience. I had my darshan within ten minutes. Though I couldn’t touch the feet of Lord, the entire experience there was memorable,” quipped Neha Desai.
Gurmeet Choudhary, one of the finalists of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa on Colors, had also gone for the darshan of the Raja. Here he shared one of the incidents that happened with him. “While I was standing in the queue, a little kid complimented me for my dancing skills. Hearing this, I felt humbled and felt that all my hard work has eventually paid off. The darshan was good and divine.”
Finally, Kunal Kumar said, “I took merely five to seven minutes to enter the pandal. I just prayed with my wife for the well being of our family. Today, being the immersion day, I am feeling awfully sad.”
