Endemol India’s Sabki Laadli Bebo started on a good note with some great numbers but then it fizzled out with either viewers being generous enough to watch it or sometime simply disown it, and so the rise and dip in the ratings of the show. Apparently, we hear the current track which has Shivshakti Sachdeva in a double role has been thumbed down by viewers as they have been constantly demanding to bring their favourite couple, Bebo- Amrit together. Despite the hue and cry against the track of the show, it has been amongst the top five shows of the channel and the latest TRP is around 3. But it seems like it is not enough to sustain itself as we hear that it will apparently be pulled off-air by the end of May. And the channel wants to place a stronger show to strengthen its prime-time slot.
Informs a source, “We heard that Bebo will go off-air in the last week of May and Balaji’s show tentatively titled as Chaand Chupa Baadal Mein starring Harshad Chopra will take its slot. Bebo, when launched registered some encouraging TRPs but off-late hasn’t been able to sustain itself. Everyone on the sets has been hinted that the show will be pulled off in May.”
When asked if the show will get shifted to the afternoon slot? Our source says, “That looks grim but one never knows. Star Plus has a history of slotting their primetime shows in the afternoon band. It is true that the viewers aren’t happy with the current track as the story has shifted its focus from Bebo and Amrit to Bebo and Raano. A loyal viewer always wants to see the lead couple to brave through adversities in life and come back together but this track of Rano and Bebo doesn’t seem to end much to the grief of its viewers who want their favourite couple to get back together. But the creative team seems to be disinterested in the demands of the viewers and is dragging the current track. Possibly they have their strategies. If the story line is changed and Bebo does well then it will be difficult to shift it to the afternoon slot thus making it more difficult for the new show to be pitched in.”
Anuj Sachdeva who plays Amrit however suggested that the show isn’t going off-air but will be shifted and said, “I am informed that the show will be shifted in the afternoon slot. I have no clue if it will be pulled off.”
Another actor on the condition of anonymity says, “I am hearing that the show will be pulled off.”
We sent a text message to Rajesh Chaddha, Director Operations Endemol India, but he didn’t revert.
